Celebrating Women’s History Month
Earlier this month, we celebrated International Women's Day at the Salesforce Tower, joining forces with the vibrant New York City tech community and in collaboration with Women Techmakers. On Thursday, March 7th, we hosted an enriching evening filled with inspirational discussions on AI, Blockchain, the Metaverse, and other cutting-edge technologies. It was a fantastic opportunity to network with industry frontrunners and explore avenues for collaboration.
Women Techmakers, an initiative by Google, aims to increase visibility, foster community, and provide resources for women in technology. The event also spotlighted leaders and members from several noteworthy organizations such as Variable Collective, Latinas in Tech, Prospanica, and Baddies in Tech, creating a diverse and empowering environment. A special thanks goes out to Sparx Labs for their pivotal role in organizing this memorable event.
DEI Leadership Summit
The DEI Leadership Summit, held on earlier this month, at Berkeley College, was a landmark event for diversity, equity, and inclusion, organized by Eve Cortes Coaching LLC in collaboration with the International Association of Women NYC, United Nations' NGO Committee on Private Sector Development, Berkeley College, and notably partnered with Prospanica New Jersey. This event featured panels, workshops by DEI experts, and networking opportunities with leaders in DEI initiatives. Attendees also had the chance to earn a Berkeley College certificate for conducting inclusive meetings. The Summit was a pivotal gathering for those committed to advancing DEI in the professional realm.
The DEI Leadership Summit not only marked an inaugural celebration of diversity, equity, and inclusion on International Women's Day but also set a precedent for future gatherings and the continuous effort to embed DEI deeply within organizational cultures and leadership strategies.
Leadership Summit: In Synergy
Looking back on an extraordinary week at the Prospanica Leadership Summit, it truly was a showcase of 'In Synergy.' The event stood out as a celebration of diversity, collective creativity, and a unified vision for the future of leadership. One of the most impactful moments was when JR Martinez inspired us with the advice to "lean in" to discomfort, emphasizing that it's through these challenging moments that our intentional growth is sparked. This insight resonated deeply, highlighting that true synergy is achieved not only through collaboration but also by embracing and learning from our difficulties. It was a privilege for our chapter to be represented at this transformative event, where we connected with like-minded peers and leaders committed to making a difference.
